Subsidies and Financing
Gießen is the EFRE priority region in Hesse and can offer special EU subsidy opportunities. Subsidation of personnel or investment costs up to 20% is possible.
The KfW Bank Group of the government encourages start-up foundations and investments in growth and stabilisation. The KfW also provides equity capital and supports growing technical companies with a special innovation subsidy. The government supports start-up companies through the KfW-Mittelstandsbank. A microfinancing programme is available for small credits.
The state of Hesse offers subsidies through venture capital, bonds, credits and grants for companies. The public funding body is the Wirtschafts- und Infrastrukturbank Hessen (WI-Bank). In addition, expenses for research and development projects are subsidised.
The subsidy programmes of the EU, government and state can be found in the Subsidy Database of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. You can research current subsidy options for your projects here with various subsidy criteria and search terms.
Another building block for financing can also be public and private venture capital. You can find more information about venture capital from MBG H Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Hessen mbH.
Due to the versatile subsidy options, it is important to obtain extensive consultation. The advice should be sought before the start of the project in order to utilise all options. In Gießen, regular Regional Employer Open Houses take place, at which an expert team can answer your questions.
