Beim nächsten Newcomers Day erwartet die Newcomer Mittelhessens ein ganz besonderer Höhepunkt des Basketballsports in unserer Region. Zum zweiten Mal findet ab 16 Uhr der Doppelspieltag der GIESSEN 46ers und des RSV Lahn-Dill statt - diesmal im der Buderus Arena Wetzlar, der Heimspielstätte der Rollstuhlbasketballer.

Der erste Tip-off erwartet uns um 17:30 Uhr. Los geht's in der ProA mit der Partie der GIESSEN 46ers. Der Playoff-Halbfinalist der Vorsaison trifft auf die Nürnberg Falcons.
Im Anschluss sehen wir um 20:00 Uhr ein weiteres, echtes Spitzenspiel: In der RBBL kommt es zum Showdown der beiden erstklassigen Teams aus Hessen. Die Wetzlarer empfangen die Rhine River Rhinos aus Wiesbaden. Im ersten Aufeinandertreffen der Saison, konnte sich der RSV knapp mit 57:51 in der Landeshauptstadt durchsetzen.

On Saturday, 21 February 2026, the newcomers to Central Hesse can look forward to a very special basketball highlight in our region. For the second time, the double game day of the GIESSEN 46ers and RSV Lahn-Dill will take place at 4 p.m. – this time at the Buderus Arena Wetzlar, the home venue of the wheelchair basketball team.

The first tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. The ProA will kick off with the GIESSEN 46ers game. Last season's playoff semi-finalists will face the Nürnberg Falcons.
This will be followed at 8 p.m. by another real top-class match: the RBBL will see a showdown between the two top teams from Hesse. Wetzlar will host the Rhine River Rhinos from Wiesbaden. In the first meeting of the season, RSV narrowly prevailed 57-51 in the state capital.

So get ready for a very special basketball experience and two top-class matches in Wetzlar!
